Isle de Krooked, Isle de la Fortune, Isle de Samana, I.d'Aklin.  Isles Plates, Isle de Magone, Isle D'Inague, La Petite Inague and Les Cayques & Le Mouchoir Carre. Chart shows many soundings in and around Les Cayques (Caicos). Compass rose and very decorative title cartouche of leaf, flower & scroll motif.

Very detailed chart shows many soundings in fathoms between Hog Cay and Great Ragged Island. Notes Ragged Pt. Inner Bar Reef, Black Rock Pt. Pig Pt and Hog Pt. Locates shoals & sandbanks & several small cays.

Good water area. Landing place when there is a surf. Stopper Hill. Ocean Hole. Shoal areas and many soundings in fathoms throughout the anchorage area at Crooked Island.

Shoals, beacons, channels, lighthouse, cays and small islands throughout.

Beacon on Great Ragged Is. hidden by trees in 1869. Coco Bay. Rocks, shoals, points, rocky heads and small cays.

Includes the Old Bahama Channel. Thousands of depth soundings, in fathoms, appear throughout. Includes Tongue of Ocean, Perros Bay, Cayo Coco, Cayo Romano, Buenavista Bay, Nicholas Channel, Jiguey Bay and locates all primary harbors and a section of the northern coast of Cuba. Excellent navigation chart in good condition with light crease down center.

CARIB125 - U. S. NAVAL OCEANOGRAPHIC OFFICE “West Indies. Bahama Islands. Tongue of the Ocean. Southern Part. From British Surveys between 1836 and 1848. & U. S. Navy Surveys to 1964.” Wash. D.C. 1969. Green, grey, white coloration. 33X41. Large very striking chart shows Andros Island and the Great Bahama Bank divided by The Tongue of the Ocean. Includes Compass Cay, Pipe Cay, Great Guana Cay on the eastern side. Chart is intensely detailed around Tongue of the Ocean showing depths and ridges of sand, channels and courses. An excellent navigational chart from the late 1960's. USNOO Chart #5956.

CARIB204 - BRITISH ADMIRALTY “West Indies. Bahamas. Turks Islands. Surveyed by Capt. R. Owen. R.N. H.M.S. Blossom 1830” London. 1842. Corrected to 1950/1965. B/W. 25X19. Excellent sea chart of the Islands shows Turks Island Passage, hundreds of depth soundings, the Mouchoir Passage, Salt Cay & Hawks Nest Anchorage. Includes a detailed inset chart titled “Grand Turk. West Coast.” depicting Cockburn Town, Salt Pond, North Creek & low scrub & forested areas. Also includes 2 large compass roses & courses as aids for mariners approaching and sailing around the islands. Chart #1441. Good, clean condition.

CARIB205 - J. N. BELLIN “Carte Des Isles Turques” Paris. 1768. Colored. 10X6. Finely drawn chart shows the Turks & Caicos islands in the Bahamas & depicts Grande & Petite Salme & La Colon, surrounded by detailed depth soundings & tracks of the French ship L'Aigle, sailing between the islands. Locates shoal areas & Seend Kee, or Sable Cay & includes a compass rose with radiating rhumb lines as an aid to mariners navigating the islands from offshore. A decorative title cartouche in top left is ornamented with scroll & shell motifs. This excellent chart was drawn & engraved under the direction of Jacques Ncolas Bellin (1703-1772) the Director of the Depot de la Marine in Paris & Royal Hydrographer to the King. It was published in “Description Geographique Des Debouquemens Qui Sont Au Nord De L'Isle De Saint Domingue.” A fine small chart.

CARIB318 - J. N. BELLIN “Carte De La Cayque De L'Ouest Et Partie De Celle Du Nord Avec Ses Mouillages.” Paris. 1768. Colored. 8¾X15. Attractive chart shows two of the Caicos islands in the Bahamas. 1.) Petite Cayque ou Cayque De L'Ouest & 2.) Cayque Bleue ou Partie Occidentale De La Cayque Du Nord. The Petite Cayque is one of the westernmost islands & the Cayque Bleue shows part of the western region of the Northern Caicos Islands. The chart was drawn to show depth soundings between the islands, courses & the track of the French ship L'Aigle in 1753. Locates anchorages, capes & bays, rocks & islands of sand. A very decorative title cartouche ornamented with leaves, shells & scrolls is drawn in lower left & the chart was designed to aid navigators approaching the islands from offshore. Engraved under the direction of Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) the Royal Hydrographer to the King in Paris, the chart was published in “Description Geographique Des Debouquemens Qui Sont Au Nord De L'Isle De Saint Dominque,” in 1768.

Fine chart shows Florida's East coast from Mosquito Inlet to Cape Canaveral, down to Key Biscayne & Key West. Depicts the Little Bahama Bank, Great Bahama Is. Great & Little Abaco, the Providence Channels, Eleuthera, Exuma Sound, Andros Island, Long Island, Cat Island & the North Coast of Cuba. The chart includes buoys & beacons, hundreds of depth soundings, navigational notes on bottoms & shows the Line of the Axis of the Gulf Stream. Condition is excellent. Mounted on new canvas.

CARIB_BAH431 - U. S. HYDROGRAPHIC OFFICE “Eastern Part of Bahama Islands.” Wash.D.C. 1855. Edition of 1890.00 B/W/ 24½X39. Fine navigational chart of the Eastern Bahama Islands & Passages, from the Great Bahama Bank & Tongue of the Ocean, over to Long Island, Crooked Island, to Mariguana Island & the Caicos Passage, Island and Bank. Locates Great Inagua Island, Turks Island & Passage, & Tortuga Island off the north coast of Haiti. Also locates the eastern regions of Cuba with harbors noted around the shorelines. The chart was prepared by Commander J. R. Bartlett, Chief Hydrographer to the Bureau of Navigation, in Washington, D.C. Very good clean condition.

Includes the Great Bahama Bank & the eastern regions of Cuba. Also includes population statistics for the year 1900. From George Franklin Cram's “Atlas of the United States.” Very good condition.

CARIB108 - A. SLOM “Ile D'Abaco. Vue Generale De Hopetown.” Paris. 1878. Colored. 6X8. Attractive harbor view of Hopetown, depicts buildings and wharfs along the shorelines & fishing boats and sailing vessels in the harbor itself. The scene was painted by A. Slom and reproduced as a hand colored lithograph under the auspices of Johann Georg Kohl (1808-1878), a German geographer, explorer & Director of the Bremen Library. Finely drawn.

CARIB170 - BRITISH ADMIRALTY “West Indies. Bahama & Abaco Islands, with the North West Providence Channel.” London. 1888 (1925). B/W. 25½X37. Very detailed chart of Little Bahama Bank, Bahama Island and Great Abaco Island. Depicts harbors, bays & inlets around shorelines and locates Abaco, Pelican Harbor, Hole in the Wall, Little Harbor, Lanthorn Head, & many more anchorages and coves around shorelines. Includes hundreds of depth soundings with notations of courses for ships approaching the islands & shows thick pine forests along the southeast shore of Abaco island. The chart includes both topographical and hydrographical notes that include rocks and other dangers. Charts of Abaco are scarce in good condition, & this example although used at sea in the late 19th & early 20th century is in good condition with only some light surface age-toning.

CARIB127 - DARLING & SON. Ltd. (Printers.) “General Descrptive Report of the Bahama Islands.” London 1904. Booklet with map. Map size is 12X25½. Printed color. Titled: “The Bahama Islands. ” Depicts all the islands very finely drawn, from the Little Bahama Bank & Abaco Island to Andros Island, Eleuthera, Cat island, Exuma, Crooked Island & Acklin's Island to the Turks & Caicos. includes the Old Bahama Bank, the northern tip of Cuba and Haiti along with the southern coast of Florida and the Everglades. This excellent map was folded into the booklet but is now pressed flat and is in very nice condition, ready for framing. The booklet is intensely detailed and includes a number of views of the islands. It was printed for His Majesty's Stationery Office & presented to both Houses of Parliament by Command of His Majesty. March 1904.
